Thorny Devil was born from the idea of survival in a place where everything is trying to make it through the heat. Name after the Moloch Horridus for its sharp, defensive, and being covered in spines, this gothic-inspired display font takes its cues from the unforgiving beauty of the desert and the creatures built to endure it.
The letterforms are tall, angular, and heavily ornamented, with spikes and pointed details pushing outward from the structure of each character. There is a sense of danger in the shapes, but also an unexpected elegance—a kind of natural armor translated into lettering.
Thorny Devil carries the atmosphere of a sun-baked wasteland: dry earth, bleached stone, endless horizons, and the stubborn life that survives there. It works especially well for album artwork, apparel, posters, tattoo concepts, logos, and any project that needs lettering with a little bite.
